FINE WHITE CLAY MINERAL

Kaolin

Overview

Kaolin is a soft, white clay mineral mainly composed of kaolinite.

Because of its high whiteness, fine particle size, good oil absorption, chemical stability, and dispersion properties, kaolin is widely used in many industrial applications.

Applications

  • Ceramics & Tiles — ceramic bodies, porcelain, and glazes
  • Paints & Coatings — as a filler and extender
  • Paper Industry — improving brightness, opacity, coating performance, and printability
  • Plastics & Polymers — as a mineral filler and functional additive
  • Rubber Industry — as a reinforcing and mineral filler
  • Adhesives & Sealants
  • Fiberglass
  • Cement & Construction Materials
  • Foundry Industry
  • Chemical Industry
  • Selected agricultural and specialty applications

Key Properties

High Whiteness

Suitable whiteness for applications in paints, paper, ceramics, and other color-sensitive products.

Fine Particle Size

Fine and consistent particle size provides good surface coverage and dispersion in industrial formulations.

Low Iron Content

Low iron content makes the material suitable for applications requiring high brightness and lighter final colors.

Chemical Stability

Kaolin offers good chemical stability under a wide range of industrial processing conditions.

Available Grades

Depending on the final application, kaolin can be supplied in different grades:
